Easter Eggs
Sometimes my clients tell me they want to be creative, they try to be creative, but they don't know where start.
I usually assign them tiny creative acts. Our intellects and our culture adore sweeping changes, but I find our inner artists just want to pull out the art supplies and play.
A great place to dip your toes back into getting creative is in the things you loved as a kid. Kids are given so much permission to do stuff--just to do stuff. Art that doesn't have to BE anything--but fun.
If you're feeling really blocked, don't underestimate the safety and permission to be found in "kid" art supplies. Go ahead, pull out the crayons, pick up some play dough, or ....dye some Easter eggs!

When to Journal?
There is no "right" time to journal. Whatever works for you is perfect--which may change from day to day or season to season. My favorite time to journal is first thing in the morning--that way no one and nothing can take it away--and I start my day in a fun, mindful way.
When do you journal? in the morning? before bed? while waiting for a meeting?

Poem: Buds
Buds
you wake,
deep within
the bark,
while we
still think
it's winter
you somehow know,
to start your work
before the world outside
seems ready
you somehow trust
the coming of the sun,
undeterred
by winter's darkest,
coldest hours
what memory!
what timing!
if you needed me
to tell you when,
just how is it,
that you know,
the time is right
to blossom?
Would you
tell me
if you could?
Would you
show me how
to know
when I am ready?
Could you
teach me
to believe
in the coming
of the sun?
